Dr. Jon A. Hunziker received his veterinary degree from Iowa State University.
Following graduation, he served 4 years as a captain in the United States Army Veterinary Corps. Two of those years were as a member of the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam.
After military duty, he completed an internship in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. This was followed by 2 years of medical residency leading to Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine. Dr. Hunziker was then selected for a residency in ophthalmic medicine and surgery, which he completed in 1978.
In 1979, Dr. Hunziker started the Veterinary Medical Center of Brooklyn encompassing medicine, surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology and exotic pet medicine.
At the VMCB, we are more than just an animal hospital. We are a multi-faceted care facility that prides itself on maintaining the highest standards. We strive to practice the best possible medicine and ensure that our hospital is clean and sanitary. Our entire staff is knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and above all, caring.
